Russian State Medical University (RSMU), established in 1906 in Moscow, was one of Russia's oldest medical schools. In 2010-2011, it was reorganized and renamed as the Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University (RNRMU) — listed separately above. The 'Russian State Medical University' identity is now the historical name for Pirogov RNRMU. Both entries refer to the same institution at its current Ostrovitianova Street, Moscow campus. Currently operates as RNRMU with 6-year MBBS in English, recognized by WHO, NMC India, and ECFMG. Listed in WDOMS and eligible for USMLE. One of Russia's most internationally recognized medical schools. Please see Pirogov RNRMU entry for full current details.
