Uttar Pradesh NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the centralized, merit-based state admission process for MD, MS and PG Diploma courses across government, autonomous, and private medical colleges/universities, administered online by the Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Lucknow.

50% of postgraduate seats in UP Government Medical Colleges are surrendered to the AIQ managed by MCC, while the remaining 50% of government seats, state quota seats, and 100% of private college/university seats are administered by DGME UP.

1. State Quota (50% in Government Colleges & Autonomous Institutions)

  • Seat Share: 50% of seats in Government Medical Colleges and state universities (KGMU Lucknow, IMS-BHU Varanasi, GSVM Medical College Kanpur, SN Medical College Agra).
  • Eligibility: Reserved for candidates with valid UP domicile/residency, or MBBS from a recognized UP institution; reservation applies for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD.
  • Fee Structure: Highly subsidized government fee scale.

2. Management / Private Quota (Private Medical Colleges & Private Universities)

  • Seat Share: Open management and minority seats across Private Medical Colleges and Universities (Era's Lucknow Medical College, Hind Institute Barabanki, Rohilkhand Medical College Bareilly, Subharti Medical College Meerut).
  • Eligibility: Open to NEET PG qualified aspirants nationwide; UP domicile not mandatory. Non-domicile candidates who completed MBBS outside UP are eligible exclusively for private sector seats.
  • Fee Structure: Regulated private tuition fee, varying by specialization.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have qualified NEET PG 2026 with the required minimum percentile (50th Gen/EWS, 40th SC/ST/OBC, 45th UR-PwD).
  • Must possess a recognized MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate from an NMC-recognized college.
  • Must have completed or be scheduled to complete the mandatory 12-month rotatory internship by the official cutoff date.
  • Must hold permanent or provisional medical registration issued by NMC or the Uttar Pradesh Medical Council (UPMC).
  • Candidates with UP domicile or MBBS from a recognized UP institution are eligible for both Government State Quota and Private Sector seats.
  • Candidates from other states who completed MBBS outside UP are eligible only for Private Medical College and Private University seats.

  1. Portal Registration: Register with NEET PG Roll Number, All India Rank, and other required credentials.
  2. Payment of Application Fee & Security Deposit: Pay the non-refundable registration fee (approx Rs. 3,000) plus security deposits (Rs. 30,000 government / Rs. 2,00,000 private).
  3. Form Filling & Document Upload: Complete personal, academic, internship, and category details; upload required certificates.
  4. Merit List Publication: DGME UP publishes the official Merit List on the portal.
  5. Online Option Registration: Submit and lock preferred colleges and specialties in order of priority.
  6. Allotment & Physical Reporting: Download the allotment letter, complete admission fee formalities, and report physically to the allotted college for verification.
