Gujarat NEET PG Counselling 2026: Official Process, Seat Matrix, Management & NRI Quota

Gujarat NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the centralized, merit-based state admission process for MD, MS and PG Diploma courses across government, GMERS, municipal, self-financed and deemed medical colleges in Gujarat, administered online by the Admission Committee for Professional Post Graduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPPGMEC). ACPPGMEC conducts a single unified counselling process for 100% of state-system seats.

1. Government Quota (GQ - 50% Seats)

  • 50% of seats in Government, GMERS and Municipal Medical Colleges; remaining 50% to AIQ (MCC). In Self-Financed Institutions (SFIs), 50% of total seats also fall under GQ.
  • Reserved for MBBS graduates from Gujarat-located NMC-recognized institutions or those meeting domicile/institutional preference rules.
  • Subsidized fees approx. Rs. 85,000-1,25,000/year in government institutions.

2. Management Quota (MQ - 35% Seats)

  • 35% of seats in Self-Financed Institutions (SFIs) and private medical colleges.
  • Open to NEET PG qualified aspirants on merit via ACPPGMEC registration and choice filling.
  • FRC-regulated fees approx. Rs. 15,00,000-41,00,000/year for prime clinical specialties; Rs. 1,00,000-5,00,000/year for pre-clinical/para-clinical branches.

3. NRI Quota (NQ - 15% Seats)

  • 15% of seats in SFIs, Deemed Universities and private colleges reserved for NRI Quota.
  • Open to NRI/OCI/PIO and NRI-sponsored Indian candidates.
  • Fees up to approx. $82,000 USD/annum for prime clinical specialties (Dermatology, Radio-Diagnosis, OBG, Medicine, Surgery). Requires an NRI security deposit during registration; vacant NRI seats convert to Management seats.

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in Gujarat NEET PG (ACPPGMEC) 2026 counselling, aspirants must satisfy:

  • Qualified NEET PG 2026 with required minimum percentile (50th Gen/EWS, 40th SC/ST/OBC/SEBC, 45th UR-PwD).
  • Recognized MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate.
  • Completed/scheduled 12-month rotatory internship by the NMC cutoff.
  • Valid medical registration (NMC/Gujarat Medical Council).
  • GQ: MBBS from a Gujarat Government/Govt of India recognized institution, or specific domicile guidelines met.
  • NQ: NEET PG qualification, valid NRI status documentation for candidate or sponsor, proof of blood relationship if sponsored, sponsor passport/visa, notarized sponsorship undertaking, and NRE/NRO bank statements.

GUJARAT NEET-PG Quota Details

Quota Seat Share Eligibility Fee Structure
Government Quota (GQ - 50% Seats) Comprises 50% of the total postgraduate medical seats in Gujarat Government Medical Colleges, GMERS colleges, and Municipal Medical Colleges (the remaining 50% is contributed to the All India Quota managed by MCC). In Self- Financed Institutions (SFIs), 50% of the total seats are also allocated under the state Government Quota. Strictly reserved for candidates who have completed their MBBS degree from an NMC-recognized university/college located within the state of Gujarat, or candidates who satisfy specific Gujarat domicile and institutional preference rules. Highly subsidized in government institutions (approx. ₹85,000 to ₹1,25,000 per annum including tuition and institutional charges). In GMERS and SFI private institutions under GQ, fees vary by specialty and institution.
Management Quota (MQ - 35% Seats) Comprises 35% of the total postgraduate medical seats in Self-Financed Institutions (SFIs) and Private Medical Colleges across Gujarat. Open to NEET PG qualified aspirants on a merit basis. Candidates must participate in the official ACPPGMEC registration and choice-filling rounds. Regulated by the Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) Gujarat, ranging approximately between ₹15,00,000 to ₹41,00,000 per annum for prime clinical specialties at private medical institutes across the state. Pre-clinical and para-clinical branches range approximately between ₹1,00,000 to ₹5,00,000 per annum.
NRI Quota (NQ - 15% Seats) Exactly 15% of the total seats in Self-Financed Institutions (SFIs), Deemed Universities, and Private Medical Colleges are dedicated exclusively to the NRI Quota. Open to Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Indian candidates sponsored by NRI first-degree blood relatives. Premium international fee scale ranging approximately up to $82,000 USD per annum (or INR equivalent) for prime clinical specialties like Dermatology, Radio-Diagnosis, OBG, General Medicine, and General Surgery. Note: ACPPGMEC requires an NRI security deposit during online registration to participate in NRI seat allocation. If any NRI seats remain vacant after counselling rounds, they are automatically converted into Management seats by the authority.

How to apply

The Gujarat NEET PG 2026 application across GQ, MQ and NQ categories is conducted strictly online via the official state admission portal, followed by physical verification.

  • Visit the portal and navigate to the PG MD/MS/DIPLOMA section; pay the non-refundable Rs. 3,000 PIN purchase fee.
  • Pay the refundable Rs. 25,000 security deposit (higher NRI deposit applies for NQ candidates); download the PIN receipt.
  • Log in with the 14-digit PIN and NEET PG credentials; complete personal, academic, internship and quota details.
  • Book a document verification appointment at a Help Center (e.g. B.J. Medical College Ahmedabad, GMC Surat, GMERS Gandhinagar).
  • Attend physical verification with original documents; receive an 'Approved' status.
  • ACPPGMEC publishes separate State Merit Lists for GQ, MQ and NQ categories.
  • Submit and lock preferred colleges/specialties during choice filling.
  • Check allotment status, download the provisional allotment order, pay institutional tuition, and report to the Help Center/College with original certificates.
