Bihar NEET PG Counselling 2026 (officially conducted as Postgraduate Medical Admission Counselling / PGMAC) is the centralized, merit-based state admission process for MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses across government and private medical colleges in Bihar, administered online by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB), Patna.

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in Bihar PGMAC 2026, aspirants must satisfy:

  • Qualified NEET PG 2026 with the required minimum percentile.
  • Recognized MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate.
  • Completed/scheduled 12-month compulsory rotatory internship by the NMC cutoff date.
  • Valid permanent/provisional medical registration (NMC/Bihar Council/State Medical Council).
  • For State Quota: valid Bihar domicile certificate, or MBBS from a Bihar-located recognized college.
  • For NRI Quota: documented NRI/OCI/PIO status of candidate or sponsor, proof of blood relationship if sponsored, sworn affidavit of financial responsibility, passport, residency proof, NRE/NRO statements.

BIHAR NEET-PG Quota Details

Quota Seat Share Eligibility Fee Structure
State Quota (50% in Government Colleges) Comprises 50% of the total postgraduate clinical and para-clinical seats in Bihar Government Medical Colleges (the remaining 50% is contributed to the All India Quota managed by MCC). Strictly reserved for candidates who are permanent domiciliaries/residents of Bihar or who have completed their MBBS degree from an NMC-recognized medical college located within the state of Bihar. Highly subsidized government academic fee scale, making it one of the most economical options for clinical specialization.
Management Quota (Private Medical Colleges) Applies to open and management seats across all Private Medical Colleges in Bihar. Open to NEET PG qualified candidates from all states across India on a pure merit basis; Bihar state domicile is not mandatory to participate in private college management counselling. Regulated private tuition fee structure varying across clinical, para- clinical, and pre-clinical branches (e.g., General Management tuition fees at institutes like Lord Buddha Koshi Medical College start around ₹25,50,000 per annum for basic clinical branches, while prime clinical specialties at Katihar Medical College range up to ₹60,00,000 per annum).
NRI Quota (Private Medical Colleges) Dedicated NRI Quota seats (up to 15%) are reserved across private medical colleges in Bihar, including Katihar Medical College, Mata Gujri Memorial Medical College (Kishanganj), Narayan Medical College & Hospital (Sasaram), Lord Buddha Koshi Medical College (Saharsa), Madhubani Medical College, and Netaji Subhas Medical College & Hospital (Bihta). Open to Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Indian candidates sponsored by NRI first-degree blood relatives. Premium international fee tier payable in US Dollars or INR equivalent as regulated by state and institutional guidelines (e.g., clinical NRI fees range approximately from $45,000 USD to $90,000 USD per annum depending on demand and specialty).

  • Pay the non-refundable Rs. 2,200 counselling fee plus applicable refundable security deposit (Rs. 25,000 UR/EWS Govt, Rs. 12,500 SC/ST/EBC/BC Govt, Rs. 2,00,000 Private).
  • Fill academic history, internship details and quota selection (mark Yes for NRI Quota if applicable).
  • Upload scanned photograph, signature, NEET PG scorecard, MBBS degree and affidavits.
  • BCECEB publishes the official PGMAC Rank Card / Merit List.
  • Log in during choice filling to select and lock preferred colleges/specialties.
  • Check seat allotment, download provisional allotment order, and report physically for verification and admission confirmation.
