Tripura NEET PG Counselling 2026: Official Process, Seat Matrix, Management & Institutional Quota

Tripura NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the centralized, merit-based state admission process for postgraduate medical degree and diploma courses (MD, MS) across government and medical trust institutions in the state, strictly organized and administered online by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Government of Tripura, through the Tripura Medical Counselling Committee (TRMCC).

Following the national dual-channel seat allocation model, 50% of postgraduate seats in Tripura Government Medical Colleges are surrendered to the All India Quota (AIQ) managed centrally by MCC, while the remaining 50% of state quota seats and participating institutional pools are administered locally by TRMCC.

1. State Quota (50% in Government & Participating Trust Institutions)

  • 50% of postgraduate clinical, para-clinical, and pre-clinical seats in state institutions (Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) Agartala, and Tripura Medical College (TMC) Hapania).
  • Reserved for candidates with valid Tripura state domicile/permanent residency, or those who completed their qualifying MBBS from a recognized Tripura medical college; reservation applies for ST, SC, and other notified categories.
  • Highly subsidized government academic fee scale (approx. Rs. 20,000 to Rs. 40,000 per annum).

2. In-Service Quota (Dedicated Seats for In-Service Doctors)

  • Specific postgraduate slots earmarked exclusively for qualified medical officers serving under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tripura.
  • In-service doctors who have completed the prescribed rural/remote service terms, possess a valid No Objection Certificate (NOC), and qualify NEET PG 2026 within the required state merit brackets.
  • Subsidized fee structure backed by state departmental service bond regulations.

3. All India Quota (AIQ) & Central Pools

  • 50% of government medical college seats processed centrally via MCC.
  • Open to NEET PG qualified aspirants from all states across India on a pure national merit basis.
  • Standard central or institutional fee scales.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have qualified NEET PG 2026 conducted by NBEMS with the mandatory minimum qualifying percentile (50th General/EWS, 40th SC/ST/OBC, 45th UR-PwD).
  • Must possess a recognized MBBS degree or provisional pass certificate from an NMC-recognized institution.
  • Must have completed or be scheduled to complete the mandatory 12-month compulsory rotatory internship by the official cutoff date.
  • Must hold permanent or provisional medical registration issued by NMC or a recognized State Medical Council.
  • State Quota: Must satisfy Tripura state domicile or permanent residency conditions as mandated by state guidelines.
  • In-Service Quota: In-service medical officers must submit a valid Service Certificate, NOC, and rural service details issued by the Director of Health Services, Tripura.

  3. Form Filling & Quota Claim: Complete personal details, academic history, internship details, and category claims; select State Quota or In-Service Quota.
  4. Uploading Scanned Documents: Upload photograph, signature, NEET PG scorecard, MBBS degree, internship certificate, registration certificate, and Tripura Domicile proof.
  5. Profile Verification & Defect Rectification: Monitor the TRMCC portal for provisional verification status and re-upload corrected documents within the correction window.
