Sir Salimullah Medical College is one of the oldest and most prestigious medical institutions in Bangladesh. The Mitford Hospital was established in 1858; it became a full-fledged MBBS college in 1972. Affiliated with Dhaka University and offering 225 MBBS seats. Named after Nawab Sir Salimullah of Dhaka. Located in old Dhaka (Mitford), it serves as a major tertiary care hospital for the region.
