Conducted by the Office of the Chairman, NEET UG Committee, the counselling process follows the declaration of NEET UG results. Odisha NEET Counselling Overview

The counselling for NEET UG in Odisha is primarily held online, and it typically consists of several rounds, depending on the availability of seats. Candidates who qualify the NEET UG exam must register for the counselling session, during which they need to fill in their preferences for colleges and courses.

Categories for Admission to MBBS & BDS Courses

The admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Odisha is categorized into different types based on various factors such as residency, performance in the entrance examination, and the type of institutions. Here are the primary categories:

  1. State Quota Seats:

    • A majority of the seats are allocated through the state quota, available for candidates who are residents of Odisha. These students are eligible for MBBS admission in Odisha's government and private medical colleges.
  2. All India Quota Seats:

    • A portion of the seats is reserved under the All India Quota. Candidates from any state can apply for these seats, which include both government and private colleges.
  3. NRI Seats:

    • Some colleges offer seats for Non-Resident Indians (NRI). These seats may have different eligibility criteria and fee structures compared to regular seats.
  4. Management Quota Seats:

    • Private medical colleges often have a management quota that allows them to admit students based on their own criteria and fees, which can differ significantly from government norms.
  5. EWS, SC, ST Reservation:

Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates must be 17 as of 31.12.2025, and there will be no upper age limit.
  • The candidates must be permanent natives of Odisha OR Children of All India Civil Service officers serving in the state of Odisha cadre.
  • The candidate must have passed +2 Sc. and in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have secured a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry & Biology at +2 Sc. level for General Candidate (GE), 40% for SC/ST candidates and 45% for benchmark disability candidates (PC-GE).     The challenged candidate in the SC/ST category is 40%.
  • The minimum qualifying mark for different types of candidates are as follows: (subject to relevant notification/modification by Govt. of India/NMC)
    a. General (GE) –(50th percentile)
    b. Physically Challenged (PC-GE) –(45th percentile)
    c. Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Scheduled Caste (SC)- (40th percentile).

How to apply

  • Step 1: The candidate must visit the official website. 
  • Step 2: To participate in the counselling of Odisha NEET 2025, candidates must register on the official website of OJEE. Registrations usually follow the announcement of the NEET result. The entire application process can be divided into six steps:
  1. Registering online using a valid email ID, phone number and NEET 2025 roll number
  2. Logging in using credentials generated while registering online
  3. Completing the application form for Odisha NEET 2025 counselling
  4. Uploading scanned images of photograph, signature and thumb impression
  5. Paying the application fee online and submitting the application
  6. Taking a print of the filled Odisha NEET counselling 2025 application form
  • Step 3:(Verification of the documents) This is offline. Candidates choose a verification centre while filling out the application form for the counselling of Odisha NEET 2025. They then report to this verification centre along with all their documents (in original). After the verification has been completed successfully, candidates will be issued a confirmation slip. They must preserve this slip for future reference.

  • Step 5: (State Merit List) After the document verification, the OJEE Cell will release a list of eligible candidates for counselling. Candidates who could not complete the document verification will not be included in this list. The state merit list will rank the eligible candidates based on their performance in NEET 2025
  • Step 6: (Choice filling and locking) Candidates included in the state merit list of Odisha NEET 2025 counselling will be able to proceed with a choice filling and locking. There is no limit on the number of options a candidate can fill in this form. They are thus advised to fill in as many choices as they can. After filling out the alternatives, a candidate must lock these choices or not be considered for seat allotment.
