Uttarakhand NEET UG Counselling 2026: Dates, Eligibility, Application Process & Seat Allotment

The Uttarakhand NEET UG Counselling 2026 is the official and centralized admission gateway for medical aspirants seeking MBBS and BDS seats across the state. The counselling is meticulously organized and administered by the Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Uttarakhand Medical Education University (HNBUMEU), Dehradun, on behalf of the state government.

Admissions for the 85% state quota seats in government medical colleges and 100% of seats in private medical/dental colleges (including state and management quotas) are granted strictly based on the merit achieved in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2026. The process involves online registration, publication of the state merit list, online choice filling, and subsequent seat allotment rounds.

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the HNBUMEU Uttarakhand NEET 2026 state counselling under the 85% state quota, candidates must strictly meet the following domicile and academic criteria:

  • Nationality & Domicile: The applicant must be an Indian citizen. The candidate must be a Permanent Resident / Domicile of Uttarakhand and possess a valid Domicile Certificate.

    • Exemption: Candidates who have passed both their 10th and 12th standard examinations from recognized educational institutions situated within the state of Uttarakhand do not require a separate Domicile Certificate to claim state quota seats.

  • NEET Qualification: Candidates must have successfully cleared the NEET UG 2026 examination and secured the minimum cutoff percentile mandated by the NTA.

  • Academic Qualifications: Must have passed the 10+2 examination from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects.

  • Minimum Marks: Unreserved (General) category candidates require a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in PCB. For SC/ST/OBC category candidates, the requirement is 40%, and for PwD, it is 45%.

  • Age Limit: The candidate must be at least 17 years old as of December 31, 2026.

Candidates must carry the following original documents along with sets of self-attested photocopies during the physical reporting phase at the allotted college:

  • NEET UG 2026 Admit Card

  • NEET UG 2026 Scorecard / Rank Letter

  • Class 10th Certificate and Marksheet (Proof of Date of Birth)

  • Class 12th Certificate and Marksheet

  • Domicile / Permanent Resident Certificate of Uttarakhand (if 10th/12th was passed outside the state)

  • Category/Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) issued by the competent authority of Uttarakhand (if applicable)

  • Sub-category Certificate (e.g., DFF, DPW, Orphans) if applicable

  • Valid Photo Identity Proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, or PAN)

  • 4 to 6 Recent Passport-size Photographs

  • Printout of the HNBUMEU Online Registration Form and Allotment Letter

  1. Official Notification: Monitor the hnbumu.ac.in portal for the "Uttarakhand NEET UG 2026 Counselling" notification and registration schedule.

  2. Online Registration: Visit the dedicated counselling portal and register using your NEET 2026 Roll Number, application number, mobile number, and email ID.

  3. Fill the Application Form: Log in and accurately enter your personal details, academic history, and explicitly state your domicile exemption or category claims (e.g., Women Quota, DPW, FF).

  4. Pay Registration & Security Fee: Remit the non-refundable counselling registration fee. Candidates must also pay a refundable security deposit online (amounts vary for Government and Private seats) to participate in choice filling.

  5. Upload Documents: Upload clear, scanned copies of your recent photograph, signature, and necessary certificates.
