Despite the immense pressure following the initial May exam cancellation, students delivered exceptional performances. Aryan Gupta from Punjab and Panshul Bansal from Haryana emerged as the top scorers, both securing an impressive 715 out of 720 marks. Aryan took the absolute top spot, with Panshul securing the second position based on the NTA's tie-breaker rules.

Key Highlights from the 2026 Results

The re-exam results saw a striking rise in high scorers, which will significantly impact the upcoming All India Quota (AIQ) and State Quota choice filling:

• Surge in Top Scores: 19 candidates scored above 700 marks, a sharp contrast to 2025 when an unusually tough paper ensured not a single candidate crossed the 700 mark.

• Overall High Performers: 138 candidates scored above 690, and a staggering 10,160 candidates crossed the 600-mark threshold.

• Qualification Rates: Out of the close to 20 lakh candidates who appeared for the re-test, 11.2 lakh successfully qualified, keeping the overall qualification rate stable at around 56%.
