Unlike states with blanket bans or overly restricted definitions, the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) strictly regulates sponsorship based on genuine blood relationships. Candidates who are not NRIs/OCIs themselves can apply as "NRI-Sponsored" if supported by an eligible relative:

• First-Degree Relatives: Father, Mother, Real Brother, or Real Sister (paternal/maternal).
